Police are investigating a traffic accident in Kwun Tong this morning (September 18) in which a 81-year-old woman died.
About 11.50am, a light goods vehicle driven by a 31-year-old man travelled along Kai Tin Road downslope towards Lei Yue Mun Road. When reaching Hong Tin Court, it reportedly knocked down the 81-year-old woman who was crossing the road.
Sustaining serious head injuries, the woman was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital where she was certified dead at 1.35pm.
The driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for enquiries.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon East, are underway.
