The Labour Department will hold a retail industry job fair at Lai Kok Community Hall in Cheung Sha Wan from September 18 to 19.
A total of 40 organisations from the retail industry, offering about 2 100 vacancies, will participate in the fair. Twenty participating organisations will set up counters and conduct on-the-spot recruitment each day.
The vacancies offered cover a wide variety of retail-related positions such as store manager, beauty advisor, customer services associate, retail sales associate, sales assistant, cashier, shop assistant, storekeeper and driver. Job seekers can find more information on the department's Interactive Employment Service website (www.jobs.gov.hk).
Around 70 per cent of the vacancies are full-time jobs. Most vacancies offer monthly salaries ranging from $8,000 to $15,000. Over 99 per cent of the vacancies require a Secondary Six education level or below. Nearly half of the vacancies are open to job seekers who may lack relevant experience.
Job seekers can submit applications on the spot and may be selected for on-site interviews. They can also register for employment services at the Labour Department's counter.
The job fair will be held from 11am to 5.30pm at Lai Kok Community Hall, Lai Kok Estate, Cheung Sha Wan, Kowloon (MTR Cheung Sha Wan Station Exit A1). Admission is free.
