The Hong Kong Observatory replaced the No. 8 Southeast Gale or Storm Signal, issued at 10.30pm yesterday (September 15), by the No. 3 Strong Wind Signal at 10.40am today (September 16) as Typhoon Kalmaegi is moving away from Hong Kong.
Public transport service has gradually resumed normal.
The 1823 Government Call Centre received a total of 128 reports of fallen trees.
The Airport Authority Hong Kong reported that after flight rescheduling, from 6am to 11am, a total of 26 arrival passenger flights and 18 departure passenger flights have been delayed, while nine arrival passenger flights and 13 departure passenger flights were cancelled.
According to the Hospital Authority, as at 11am, a total of 18 males and 11 females have sought medical treatment at 10 public hospitals.
While the No.8 Southeast Gale or Storm Signal remained in force, a total of 176 people have sought refuge at the temporary shelters opened by the Home Affairs Department. As at 9.30am, 24 shelters are still in operation.
As at 11am, the Drainage Services Department received a total of five reports of flooding in Central and Western District, Eastern District, Kwun Tong, North District and Islands District. One report of landslide in Central and Western District has also been received.
