The Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department is now co-ordinating the annual Hong Kong Reef Check, using diving teams to collect data on the health of 33 underwater sites.
The International Association of Hand-in-hand Divers - which includes those with disabilities - is joining the exercise again this year to help protect marine life.
The association's chairman and secretary describe how the exercise is an opportunity to promote social inclusion for the disabled community, and how divers with disabilities relish the freedom of the underwater world in a story that appears on news.gov.hk today (September 14) in both text and video format.
