SJ to promote legal and arbitration services in Qingdao

     The Secretary for Justice, Mr Rimsky Yuen, SC, will lead a delegation of about 80 professionals from the legal and arbitration sectors in Hong Kong to attend the Hong Kong Legal Services Forum in Qingdao from September 15 to 17.

     Featuring the theme "Hong Kong Legal Services - Think Global, Think Hong Kong", the forum will highlight the vital role Hong Kong plays as a legal and dispute resolution centre, as well as the assistance that Hong Kong legal and arbitration professionals can provide to Mainland enterprises that are "going global".

     This biennial event is organised by the Department of Justice, and co-organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, the Law Society of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Bar Association, the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre, the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (Asia Office) and the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission Hong Kong Arbitration Centre.

     Mr Yuen will officiate at the forum's opening on September 16 and deliver an address to promote Hong Kong's legal and dispute resolution services. He will also meet with the Korean and Japanese business community in Qingdao to introduce Hong Kong's arbitration and mediation services.

     During his stay in Qingdao, Mr Yuen will take the opportunity to meet with officials of the Qingdao Municipal Government, the Justice Bureau of Qingdao Municipality and the Qingdao Intermediate People's Court.
