The Electrical and Mechanical Services Department today (September 12) urged the public to stop using a Siemens tumble dryer with the model number WTXL2100EU and batch numbers FD8201 to FD8205 and contact the supplier, BSH Home Appliances Limited, for free repair service.
The supplier recently identified that, in very rare cases, electronic components of the product may overheat and pose a potential fire hazard.
The product was sold in Hong Kong between January and October 2002. The supplier will offer free repair service to affected consumers and posted notices in newspapers today.
