Young people invited to participate in Youth Summit 2014
********************************************************

Starting from today (September 10), young people aged 15 to 24 can log on to the Commission on Youth (CoY) website (www.coy.gov.hk) and sign up to participate in the Youth Summit 2014 to be held on November 29 and exchange views on issues of concern with government representatives and guests.

The Youth Summit is jointly organised by the Home Affairs Bureau and the CoY. The theme of this year's summit is "Opportunities and Future in the Eyes of Youth", under which three discussion topics have been set to facilitate in-depth discussion.

The three discussion topics selected by young people through an online exercise conducted between late July and mid-August are "Opportunities and Future in the Eyes of Youth with the Disparity between Rich and Poor in our Community", "Opportunities and Future in the Eyes of Youth with the Wide Accessibility of Higher Education" and "Opportunities and Future in the Eyes of Youth in a Community with Growing Civic Awareness". Participants may join one of the three discussion groups to focus their discussion on an individual topic.

Those interested in attending must submit the completed online application form and confirm by return email by midnight on September 30 (Hong Kong time). Participants will be drawn by ballot if the event is oversubscribed. Details about the ballot will be announced at the CoY website in due course.
