Opening of swimming pools and beaches (as at 2pm)

Attention Radio and TV Announcers:

Please broadcast the following special announcement as soon as possible and repeat it at suitable intervals:

     The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) announced that as at 2pm today (September 9), due to an insufficient number of lifeguards on duty, the following nine public swimming pools are now closed to ensure the safety of swimmers:

Hong Kong Island: Sun Yat Sen Memorial Park Swimming Pool,
                  Wan Chai Swimming Pool,
                  Morrison Hill Swimming Pool,
                  Victoria Park Swimming Pool,
                  Siu Sai Wan Swimming Pool
Kowloon: Lam Tin Swimming Pool, Lai Chi Kok Park Swimming Pool
New Territories: Tung Chung Swimming Pool,
                 Shing Mun Valley Swimming Pool

     Besides, 20 swimming pools are partially open:

Hong Kong Island: Pao Yue Kong Swimming Pool, Island East
                  Swimming Pool, Chai Wan Swimming Pool
Kowloon: Sham Shui Po Park Swimming Pool, Kowloon Park
         Swimming Pool, Tai Kok Tsui Swimming Pool,
         Tai Wan Shan Swimming Pool, Kowloon Tsai Swimming Pool,
         Hammer Hill Road Swimming Pool,
         Jordan Valley Swimming Pool, Kwun Tong Swimming Pool
New Territories: Jockey Club Yan Oi Tong Swimming Pool,
                 Tuen Mun North West Swimming Pool, Yuen Long
                 Swimming Pool, Tsuen King Circuit Wu Chung
                 Swimming Pool, Hin Tin Swimming Pool,
                 Tseung Kwan O Swimming Pool, Sai Kung
                 Swimming Pool, Tsing Yi Swimming Pool,
                 Ma On Shan Swimming Pool.

     Lifesaving services at Anglers' Beach, Ting Kau Beach and Ma Wan Tung Wan Beach in Tsuen Wan District; Butterfly Beach and Golden Beach in Tuen Mun District; Silverstrand Beach and Clear Water Bay Second Beach in Sai Kung District; as well as Deep Water Bay Beach, Repulse Bay Beach, South Bay Beach, Stanley Main Beach, Turtle Cove Beach and Shek O Beach in Southern District are now suspended. Red flags have been hoisted at the beaches. For safety reasons, swimmers are advised not to enter the water.

     The rest of 14 public swimming pools, 25 public beaches and all water sports centres are open to the public.

     The department apologised for any inconvenience caused.
