The Legislative Council Panel on Environmental Affairs conducted a visit to the Pillar Point Sewage Treatment Works (STW) in Tuen Mun today (September 8) to observe the follow-up actions taken to deal with the sewage pollution caused by facility malfunction in STW.
Members first received a briefing on the operation of STW by representatives of the Drainage Services Department and learnt about the latest progress of the actions taken to deal with the facility malfunction. Members then observed the treatment facilities of STW.
Members who participated in the visit included Chairman of the Panel, Ms Cyd Ho, and Panel member, Mr Chan Han-pan, as well as Mr Wong Kwok-hing and Mr Michael Tien, who are non-Panel members.
