Twenty-two building plans approved in July

     The Buildings Department approved 22 building plans in July, with eight on Hong Kong Island, five in Kowloon and nine in the New Territories.

     Of the approved plans, 14 were for apartment and apartment/commercial developments, two were for commercial developments, one was for factory and industrial developments and five were for community services developments.

     In the same month, consent was given for work to start on 14 building projects that, when completed, will provide 243 926 square metres of gross floor area for domestic use, involving 3 578 units, and 75 774 sq m of gross floor area for non-domestic use. The department has received notification of commencement of work for 13 building projects.

     The department also issued 16 occupation permits, with four on Hong Kong Island, six in Kowloon and six in the New Territories.

     Of the buildings certified for occupation, the gross floor area for domestic use was 118 939 sq m, involving
1 739 units, and 11 612 sq m was for non-domestic use.

     The declared cost of new buildings completed in July totalled about $3.3 billion.

     In addition, 10 demolition consents involving 10 building structures were issued.

     The department received 4 480 reports about unauthorised building works in July, and issued 1 661 removal orders on unauthorised works.
