The Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Gregory So, attended the 21st Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) Ministerial Meeting in Nanjing today (September 5).
Under the main theme "Innovation and Sustainability", APEC ministers discussed three sub-themes - increasing innovation capacities of SMEs, improving the policy environment for SMEs' innovation and promoting SMEs' growth through innovation. Mr So briefed the ministers on the initiatives supporting SMEs' innovation in Hong Kong at the meeting.
After attending the Ministerial Meeting, Mr So will return to Hong Kong tomorrow morning (September 6), and then he will immediately depart for Shenzhen to officiate at the opening ceremony of the 1st HK-SZ Design Biennale.
Mr So will be back in Hong Kong tomorrow afternoon.
