Exhibition to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the Narcotics Bureau (with photos)

     The Hong Kong Police Force・s Narcotics Bureau (NB) is now staging a two-week exhibition entitled "A Diamond Police Formation to Beat Drugs for a Better Hong Kong", at the Hong Kong Jockey Club Drug InfoCentre to celebrate its 60th Anniversary.
 
     Officiating at today・s (September 5) opening ceremony, Police Director of Crime and Security, Mr Lo Mung-hung, said the exhibition illustrated NB・s efforts in combating drug trafficking and money laundering activities during the past six decades.
 
     Apart from vigorous enforcement actions, Mr Lo also noted that the Force had all long adopted a multi-agency and community-based approach to promote anti-drug messages among juveniles, to increase public・s vigilance against youth drug abuse at home and enhance parents・ understanding of the hidden nature of drug abuse.
 
     Other officiating guests include Chairman of the Action Committee Against Narcotics, Professor Daniel Shek Tan-lei; Commissioner for Narcotics, Mrs Erika Hui Lam Yin-ming; Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime), Mr John Ribeiro; and Chief Superintendent of Narcotics Bureau, Mr Chan Kin-hung.
 
     Visitors will gain a better understanding of the work of NB and its accomplishments in the past 60 years. There will also be a wide range of drug equipment on display, coupled with a time tunnel, a mock-up drug manufacturing plant, and a souvenir booth distributing free postcards and anniversary brochures.
 
     Highlights of the exhibition include a demonstration of drug detection and tracker dogs on Saturdays at 11am and 2.30pm. A limited quantity of police dog souvenirs will be distributed to the audience after the performance.
 
     Members of the public are invited to visit the exhibition, which will be open to the public from 10am to 6pm daily, except Sundays and public holidays, until September 20 at the Hong Kong Jockey Club Drug InfoCentre on the roof floor, Low Block of the Queensway Government Offices, 66 Queensway, Hong Kong. Admission is free.
