Pet Adoption Day to be held this weekend (with photo)
*****************************************************

The two-day Pets With Love - Pet Adoption Day event will be held at Sky Dome Atrium, Level 1, Discovery Park Shopping Centre, Tsuen Wan, from noon to 7pm this weekend (September 6 and 7). Admission is free.

The event will feature a wide range of activities such as an animal adoption service in which members of the public can meet cats, rabbits and reptiles that are up for adoption. Other activities will include celebrities sharing their experience of adopting pets, game booths, an educational exhibition and workshops. To avoid causing stress to small animals, dogs are not allowed to enter the venue.

Co-organised by the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department, the Hong Kong Society of Herpetology Foundation, the Hong Kong Rabbit Society, the Lifelong Animal Protection Charity, the Lamma Animal Welfare Centre and the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, the event seeks to encourage people to adopt abandoned or unclaimed animals and promote responsible pet ownership at the same time.

Currently, abandoned pets or unclaimed animals with a friendly temperament and good health will be sent to partner animal welfare organisations for adoption. Free desexing operations will also be offered for animals being adopted via the partner animal welfare organisations.

For details of the event, please visit www.petswithlove.com.hk.
