SEN meets with Mainland officials to discuss environmental issues (with photos)

     The Secretary for the Environment, Mr Wong Kam-sing, today (September 3), continued his duty visit in Beijing, and met with officials to exchange views on the latest developments and work progress of issues of mutual concern.

     Mr Wong first called on the Vice-Chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission, Mr Xie Zhenhua, to discuss the work progress and the latest developments to combat climate change in the Mainland and Hong Kong.

     He then met with the Vice-Administrator of the National Energy Administration, Mr Zhang Yuqing, to exchange views on energy-related issues and the achievements of the 11th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Energy Ministerial Meeting, which has just been held in Beijing.

     In the afternoon, Mr Wong met with the Vice-Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Mr Su Bo, to discuss the latest developments of promoting cleaner production in the Mainland, as well as the work progress of cleaner production jointly launched by Guangdong and Hong Kong.

     Mr Wong and accompanying officials will depart for Hong Kong in the evening.
