The Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, today (August 31) congratulates Mr Chui Sai-on on his election as the fourth-term Chief Executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR).
Mr Leung said, "Mr Chui is committed to serving the people of Macao. I would like to extend congratulations on behalf of the Government of Hong Kong SAR for his successful election to be the fourth-term Chief Executive of the Macao SAR. I believe Macao will scale new heights under the leadership of Mr Chui.
"Hong Kong and Macao have long-standing close ties in all aspects. I hope that the two places will continue to stride forward under the principle of mutual co-operation and support, and to work together to bring forth prosperity and stability in the two SARs, as well as the whole Pearl River Delta Region."
