Transcript of remarks by S for S after FCC meeting
**************************************************

Following is the transcript of remarks made by the Secretary for Security, Mr Lai Tung-kwok, at a media session at Central Government Offices, Tamar, after the Fight Crime Committee meeting this afternoon (August 29):

Reporter: How do you come to respond to the alleged leak of the personal information of people who voted in the Occupy Central referendum?

Secretary for Security: The Police have received one complaint from a citizen of Hong Kong. The Police are now conducting its investigation. The report was made recently and therefore the investigation is at a preliminary stage.

Reporter: The Occupy Central is going to happen so soon. How well prepared is Hong Kong in terms of manpower and resources for dealing with wave after wave of protests?

Secretary for Security: The Hong Kong Police and relevant departments have made all the necessary preparations. And, of course, we do hope that when people come out to express their views and opinions, they do so in accordance with the law. The Police will facilitate all peaceful assembly and expression of opinion, but the basic line is they cannot breach the law. If there is a breach of law, of course the Police will take appropriate and prompt action to handle the situation.

Reporter: People are concerned about People's Liberation Army (PLA) vehicles travelling down Nathan Road on Thursday morning. Can you comment on that? Is that a normal occurrence to see?

Secretary for Security: I have no knowledge of what you have just described, but since there is PLA stationed in Hong Kong, movement of the vehicles is a common phenomenon.
