The Civil Engineering and Development Department (CEDD) today (August 29) invited interested tenderers for the contract for the "Kai Tak Development – Stage 2 Infrastructure Works for Developments at the Southern Part of the Former Runway" to apply for prequalification.
The works mainly comprise design and construction of the following:
* roads with a vehicular underpass, pedestrian streets, landscaped deck structure, roadside noise barriers and associated footpaths, open spaces and landscaping works on landscaped deck; and
* ancillary works including permanent and temporary road closure, vehicular run-ins, drainage pipes and outfalls, sewerage, water mains, utilities, landscaping, environmental mitigation measures and related monitoring and audit works.
Works to be included in the contract as items subject to excision include the following:
* construction of pipelines for District Cooling System; and
* improvement works for three road junctions in Kowloon Bay, i.e. Wang Chiu Road/Kai Cheung Road, Wang Chiu Road/Lam Hing Street, and Wang Chiu Road/Sheung Yee Road.
The works are scheduled to commence in mid 2015 with phased completion between end 2017 and the first quarter of 2019.
The CEDD has commissioned AECOM Asia Company Limited (AECOM) to supervise the works. Interested contractors may obtain prequalification documents from AECOM at 8/F, Grand Central Plaza, Tower 2, 138 Sha Tin Rural Committee Road, Sha Tin, New Territories, Hong Kong.
The notice for prequalification of tenderers was gazetted today. The closing time for the prequalification application is noon on September 29. Completed prequalification applications should be placed in the Civil Engineering and Development Department Tender Box located at 7/F, Empire Centre, 68 Mody Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, Hong Kong.
