The Administration Wing announced today (August 28) that some of the construction works processes of the perimeter fence project at the East Wing Forecourt of the Central Government Offices (CGO), Tamar, were affected by weather and had taken a longer time than expected to complete. As a result, the contractor of the Architectural Services Department needs extra time to complete the remaining works items. Based on the latest works progress, the Forecourt is expected to be re-opened on September 10.
During the temporary closure of the Forecourt, the public may continue using the alternative routes via the Tamar Park or the escalators or elevators connecting the elevated walkway to Harcourt Road and Tim Mei Avenue for access to the Legislative Council Complex. Visitors to CGO and the press may use the Staff Entrance on the second floor of the East Wing of CGO.
