The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:
The Hong Kong Red Cross Blood Transfusion Service (BTS) mobile collection vehicle will be stationed outside the Tai Po Civic Centre, On Pong Road, Tai Po (near car park entrance) from tomorrow (August 26) to September 7 (except for Monday, September 1). The service hours are between 11.30am and 6pm. A Blood Buddy key holder will be presented to those who give blood successfully during the above period while stocks last.
Eligible blood donors should be members of the public who are aged between 16 and 60 (donation is possible up to the age of 70 if predetermined conditions are met), weigh more than 41 kilograms and are in good health. Male and female adult donors aged 18 or above can give blood every 75 days and 105 days respectively, while youths aged from 16 to 17 can donate blood every 150 days.
