Relocation of Wan Chai Ferry Pier
*********************************

The Transport Department (TD) today (August 22) announced that the Wan Chai berthing point of the "Wan Chai - Tsim Sha Tsui" ferry service will be relocated to the new Wan Chai Ferry Pier with effect from the first sailing on August 30, 2014.

"To cope with the works for the Wan Chai Development Phase II Project, the existing Wan Chai (East) Ferry Pier at the shore of Wan Chai will be demolished. The operation of the "Wan Chai - Tsim Sha Tsui" ferry service will therefore be relocated to the re-provisioned ferry pier at the adjacent reclamation area," a TD spokesman said.

Members of the public may make use of the newly constructed covered walkway at the east of the existing Wan Chai (East) Ferry Pier for access to the new pier. Directional signs will be displayed in the vicinity of the old pier and along the covered walkway to guide passengers.

In addition, the ferry operator has put up notices and arranged for announcements at the Wan Chai (East) and Tsim Sha Tsui Ferry Piers to inform passengers of the pier relocation arrangements.
