A new food concept for Hong Kong was introduced today (August 21) with the opening by Homemade Foods of its food factory and kitchen in Kwun Tong, offering delivery of organic freshly cooked food for children.
The company was started by American Mrs Amy Ward and gives parents the chance to order a variety of freshly made organic baby food and big kid food suitable for children from 4 months to 6 years old.
"Baby food on delivery is a common service in the US, but it's not developing systematically in Asia or Hong Kong. There's a good business niche here and as we can provide quality, reliable and safe food. Parents can save time cooking and focus on caring and spending time with their children," Mrs Ward said.
She said that her kitchen is fully licensed and uses organic ingredients of sustainable origins, shipped daily from the US, Australia and Europe. The food packaging is made in Denmark with BPA-free plastic. "We have incredible pride in what we are making and our motto is 'If we wouldn't serve it to our own children, we certainly wouldn't serve it to yours'," the mother of two said.
"We aim at expatriate parents to begin with, but in time I believe that local parents will love the concept as they know more about the advantages of nutritious organic baby food on delivery," Mrs Ward said.
