Police are investigating a traffic accident in Yuen Long this afternoon (August 18) in which a 54-year-old man died.
About 4.20pm, a light goods vehicle (LGV) driven by a 43-year-old man was travelling along Yuen Long Highway, Tuen Mun bound. Upon reaching Hung Shui Kiu, it reportedly slowed down and stopped due to traffic in front. The motorcycle driven by the 54-year-old man then rammed into the LGV.
The 54-year-old man was once trapped and sustained serious head injuries. He was rushed to Tuen Mun Hospital in unconscious state after rescue and was certified dead at 4.54pm.
The case will be handed over to the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North Region for investigation.
