Here is an item of interest to swimmers.

The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) announced today (August 16) that Hung Shing Yeh Beach and Lo So Shing Beach in the Islands District, which were closed yesterday (August 15) after a baby shark was found at Hung Shing Yeh Beach, were reopened today.

The department's shark prevention net maintenance contractor had completed inspection of the shark prevention nets at the two beaches yesterday and this morning and confirmed that there was no big fish inside the enclosed zones of the nets and that the nets were in good condition.

Marine Police and Government Flying Service conducted checks and searches in the nearby waters yesterday and this morning, and found no sighting of sharks or big fish.

Swimmers are advised to swim in the enclosed zones of the shark prevention nets for safety's sake. LCSD staff would remain vigilant and strengthen patrols in the swimming zones.
