Nineteen building plans approved in June

     The Buildings Department approved 19 building plans in June, with three on Hong Kong Island, two in Kowloon and 14 in the New Territories.

     Of the approved plans, eight were for apartment and apartment/commercial developments, seven were for commercial developments, and four were for community services developments.

     In the same month, consent was given for work to start on 18 building projects that, when completed, will provide 113 233 square metres of gross floor area for domestic use, involving 1 861 units, and 112 391 sq m of gross floor area for non-domestic use. The department has received notification of commencement of work for 13 building projects.

     The department also issued 20 occupation permits, with eight on Hong Kong Island, five in Kowloon and seven in the New Territories.

     Of the buildings certified for occupation, the gross floor area for domestic use was 179 220 sq m, involving 2 920 units, and 39 202 sq m was for non-domestic use.

     The declared cost of new buildings completed in June totalled about $5.2 billion.

     In addition, nine demolition consents involving nine building structures were issued.

     The department received 3 214 reports about unauthorised building works in June, and issued 1 548 removal orders on unauthorised works.
