SHA to visit Nanjing

     The Secretary for Home Affairs, Mr Tsang Tak-sing, will set off for Nanjing on Saturday morning (August 16) and attend the opening ceremony of the 2nd Summer Youth Olympic Games as well as cheer for the Hong Kong delegation participating in the sporting events.

     The Summer Youth Olympic Games is held once every four years. Athletes aged between 15 and 18 are eligible to participate. This year 18 athletes will represent Hong Kong to join altogether eight events, namely the badminton, equestrian, fencing, golf, windsurfing, table tennis, triathlon and swimming competitions.

     During his stay in Nanjing, Mr Tsang will watch events in which Hong Kong athletes will participate. He will also pay a visit to the Youth Olympics Village and meet the representatives from Hong Kong. He will return to Hong Kong in the afternoon of August 18.
