Fatal traffic accident in Kwai Chung

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Kwai Chung this morning (August 11) in which a 52-year-old man was killed.
 
     At about 7.30am, a medium goods vehicle (MGV) driven by a 47-year-old man was travelling along Container Port Road South towards Kowloon. When turning left to a carpark near No.4 Roundabout, the MGV reportedly knocked down the 52-year-old man who was riding a bicycle on the pavement.  
 
     Sustaining serious injuries to lower part of his body, the man was rushed to Princess Margaret Hospital in semi-conscious state where he was certified dead at 12.39pm.
 
     The MGV driver was arrested in connection with the case and is being detained for enquiries.
 
     Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories South are underway.
