Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Yuen Long today (August 8) in which a 62-year-old man was killed.
At about 8am, a light goods vehicle (LGV) driven by a 31-year-old man was travelling along Long Yip Road towards Sheung Shui. On reaching Wang Yip Street, the LGV reportedly knocked down the 62-year-old man who was riding a bicycle.
The man, in unconscious state, sustained serious head injury and was rushed to Pok Oi Hospital where he was certified dead at 8.21am.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North are underway.
