The Antiquities Advisory Board launched a public consultation on the review of the policy on the conservation of built heritage on June 4, 2014. The two-month public consultation exercise was completed on August 4, 2014.
The Board received about 100 submissions during the consultation period. It will carefully analyse the views received with a view to submitting a report to the Government.
During the public consultation exercise, the Board held a public forum and three thematic discussion sessions. The Board also attended meetings of the Legislative Council Panel on Development, the Heung Yee Kuk and some District Councils. A meeting with the Chairmen and Vice-Chairmen of the 18 District Councils was arranged. Telephone surveys were commissioned to gather the views of the general public.
