Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Kwai Chung today (August 3) in which a 76-year-old woman was killed.
At about 11.50am, a private car driven by a 35-year-old man was travelling along Hing Fong Road towards Tai Wo Hau Road. On reaching near a park, the private car reportedly knocked down the 76-year-old woman who was crossing the road.
The woman sustained serious head injury and was rushed to Princess Margaret Hospital in unconscious state where she was certified dead at 2.59pm.
The driver was arrested in connection with the case and is being detained pending further enquiries.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories South are underway.
