Government to construct dry weather flow interceptor at Cherry Street box culvert
********************************************************

The Government intends to set up a temporary works area within approximately 2 310 square metres of foreshore and seabed at New Yau Ma Tei Typhoon Shelter to facilitate construction of a dry weather flow interceptor, an additional drainage outfall at Cherry Street box culvert, and ancillary works including earth, drainage and landscaping works, and related temporary works. The objective of the proposed works is to improve the water quality of New Yau Ma Tei Typhoon Shelter by intercepting the polluted dry weather flow inside the existing Cherry Street box culvert.

The works are scheduled to commence in April 2015 and to be completed by December 2019. The extent of the area affected is stated in a notice published today (August 1) in the Government Gazette (www.gld.gov.hk/egazette/pdf/20141831/egn201418314441.pdf).

The notice and its related plan are posted on notice boards near the site. The plan can also be seen at the Survey and Mapping Office of the Lands Department, 23/F, North Point Government Offices, 333 Java Road, North Point, Hong Kong (where copies can be purchased on order); at the Yau Tsim Mong District Office, Public Enquiry Service Centre, Ground Floor, Mong Kok Government Offices, 30 Luen Wan Street, Mong Kok, Kowloon; and on the Lands Department's website (www.landsd.gov.hk) under Government Notices.

Any person who considers that he or she has an interest, right or easement in or over the foreshore and seabed involved may submit a written objection to the Director of Lands, 20/F, North Point Government Offices, 333 Java Road, North Point, Hong Kong, by October 1, 2014.
