Tenders invited for construction of Liantang/Heung Yuen Wai Boundary Control Point buildings and associated facilities

     The Architectural Services Department today (August 1) invited tenders for the contract for construction of Liantang/Heung Yuen Wai Boundary Control Point buildings and associated facilities.

     The works mainly involve construction of:

* a passenger terminal building, including a public transport interchange, a government and public car park, a back of house area and a passenger hall block;

* a Customs and Excise Department detector dog base; a four-storey high Hong Kong Police Force building with 14-storey high observation tower; a four-storey high fire station with an eight-storey high drill tower; two-storey high cargo examination buildings; Fixed X-ray Vehicle Inspection System buildings; Mobile X-ray Vehicle Scanning System buildings; goods vehicle clearance kiosks; public toilets; disinfection facilities; a weigh station; an Under Vehicle Surveillance System station; private car and coach clearance kiosks; private car examination buildings; traffic control offices; an inspection post; free standing canopies and an elevated walkway;

* associated external and road facilities within the site including vehicular bridges, vehicular roads, footpaths, planters, fencing, underground drainage, external services and high mast lighting; and

* fitting-out and building services installation of the border crossing pedestrian bridge up to the Hong Kong - Shenzhen administrative boundary.

     The works are scheduled to commence in March 2015 for completion in October 2017.

     Interested contractors may obtain the tender forms and other particulars from the Architectural Services Department at 33/F, Queensway Government Offices, 66 Queensway, Hong Kong.

     The invitation to tender was gazetted today. The closing time for the tender is noon on September 12. Tender submissions should be placed in the Government Secretariat Tender Box at G/F, East Wing, Central Government Offices, 2 Tim Mei Avenue, Tamar.
