The Secretary for the Environment, Mr Wong Kam-sing, will lead a delegation of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government to depart Hong Kong tomorrow morning (July 30) for Guangzhou where he will co-chair the third meeting of the Hong Kong/Guangdong Joint Liaison Group on Combating Climate Change (JLGCCC) with the Director of the Guangdong Development and Reform Commission, Mr Li Chunhong.
The delegation will comprise representatives from the Environmental Protection Department, Electrical and Mechanical Services Department, Hong Kong Observatory, Drainage Services Department and Civil Engineering and Development Department.
At the meeting, both sides will outline what they have been doing to combat climate change and discuss the reports of the two working groups set up under the JLGCCC.
Mr Wong will return to Hong Kong after the meeting tomorrow afternoon.
