The Police Recruitment Day 2014 organised by the Hong Kong Police Force today (July 26) at the Police Headquarters attracted over 1 900 applications.
The event provided one-stop service to applicants for the post of Probationary Inspector (PI), which included initial screening and scheduling of written examination, and to applicants for the post of Recruit Police Constable (RPC) with initial screening and group interview.
There were also four experience-sharing sessions for applicants to enhance understanding of police work to better prepare themselves for the subsequent selection process.
The recruitment target for the financial year 2014-15 is over 200 PIs and 1 100 RPCs.
"We aim to recruit people who possess the competences required of a police officer, share the same values of the Force and endeavour to become a professional police officer to serve our community,กจ a Police spokesman said.
As at July 25, 42 PIs and 450 RPCs have been recruited. The overall recruitment situation is smooth and on schedule.
