The Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, met the visiting President of the World Bank Group, Dr Jim Yong Kim, at Government House this afternoon (July 25) to exchange views on issues of mutual concern.
Mr Leung said that Hong Kong, as Asia's world city, is strategically located at the heart of Asia with easy access to different parts of the region. He added that Hong Kong is a diverse metropolis where East meets West. It also enjoys world-class infrastructure and a rich pool of professional talents, especially in financial services.
Mr Leung encouraged the World Bank Group to make the best use of Hong Kong's financial platform and services as well as the city's unique role as a super-connector between the Mainland of China and the rest of the world.
The Financial Secretary, Mr John C Tsang, also attended the meeting.
