The Secretary for Home Affairs, Mr Tsang Tak-sing, will depart for Shanghai on the morning of July 28 (Monday) to attend the 12th National Student Sports Games and cheer for the Hong Kong schools delegation participating in the event.
The National Student Sports Games is held every three years and this year will be the sixth time that Hong Kong has participated in the event since 1999. The Hong Kong delegation comprises 44 student athletes who were selected from more than 500 secondary schools which are members of the Hong Kong Schools Sports Federation. The selection trials were organised by the Federation with the assistance of a number of national sports associations.
During his stay in Shanghai, Mr Tsang will also meet Shanghai officials responsible for cultural and youth policies. He will return to Hong Kong on the afternoon of July 30 (Wednesday).
