Local ensemble Orange A Cappella to return with concert "Do You Sing? Dare to Sing! II" (with photos)
************************************************************

Local ensemble Orange A Cappella performed with a group of workshop participants to sing out their aspirations in a finale performance last year. This August, Orange will return to present an upbeat show entitled "Do You Sing? Dare to Sing! II", with the young alumni from last year's workshop joining as mentors to guide new talents through a new chapter of a cappella music.

"Do You Sing? Dare to Sing! II", to be conducted in Cantonese, is one of the programmes of the large-scale summer festival International Arts Carnival (IAC) presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department. The concert will run from August 15 to 17 at Sai Wan Ho Civic Centre Theatre.

In the concerts, innovative a cappella styles will be combined with percussion, movement and theatrics to display boundless enthusiasm about the pursuance of dreams. A wide-ranging repertoire of original songs and covers will be performed.

Orange A Cappella is one of the most popular a cappella groups in Hong Kong. The name of the ensemble is to be understood by reading it as "all range", meaning that the group has a broad vocal range and a diverse music style. In addition to performing a cappella covers of pop songs, the ensemble also performs its own original music.

Established in 2009, Orange has toured in Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, the Mainland and Macau. The ensemble has been invited to perform in arts festivals and other major events. It has collaborated with world-renowned violinist Jue Yao and local artists such as Elisa Chan, Frances Yip, Louie Castro, Chris Wong and C AllStar.

"Do You Sing? Dare to Sing! II" will be staged at 7.30pm on August 15 and 16 (Friday and Saturday) and at 3pm on August 17 (Sunday) at the Sai Wan Ho Civic Centre Theatre. Tickets priced at $180 and $120 are available at URBTIX.

Half-price tickets are available for full-time students, senior citizens, people with disabilities and their minders, and Comprehensive Social Security Assistance recipients. Booking discounts of up to 20 per cent are available for IAC full-price performing arts/film programmes.

Programme brochures are available at URBTIX outlets or at the carnival website www.hkiac.gov.hk.
