The Financial Secretary, Mr John C Tsang, today (July 17) started his two-day visit to Zhuhai and Macau.
On arrival in Zhuhai in the afternoon, Mr Tsang went to the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB) Authority where he was given a briefing on the progress of construction of the HZMB.
This was followed by a meeting with Standing Committee Member of the CPC Zhuhai Municipal Committee Mr Liu Xiaolong, who is also the Executive Vice Mayor of Zhuhai. Mr Tsang said he looked forward to the completion of the new land transport link between Hong Kong and Zhuhai, which would further enhance the sustainable economic development and co-operation of the two places.
Having completed the Zhuhai leg of his visit, Mr Tsang proceeded to Macau to have dinner with the Director General of the Macau Customs Service, Mr Choi Lai-hang.
Tomorrow, Mr Tsang will attend the Seventh Hong Kong Macao Co-operation High Level Meeting.
