Police arrested a 59-year-old man suspected to be in connection with a murder case in Yuen Long last night (June 27) in which a 15-year-old boy was killed.
About 10.44pm yesterday, Police received a report by the 59-year-old man that he had attacked his 15-year-old son in their residence in Wang Chau Tung Tau Wai San Tsuen in Yuen Long.
Police officers sped to the scene and found the boy lying on a bed in a unit with multiple cut wounds on his mouth, neck and chest. The boy was rushed to Pok Oi Hospital in unconscious state where he was certified dead at 11.51pm.
The 59-year-old man also sustained a cut wound on his chin. He was sent to Pok Oi Hospital in conscious state and later transferred to Tuen Mun Hospital for treatment.
Police seized a meat knife and a fruit knife at scene. Initial investigations revealed the man wounded his son and then himself in the unit.
Post-mortem examinations on the deceased will be conducted later to ascertain the cause of death.
Active investigations by the District Crime Squad of Yuen Long are under way.
