The following is issued on behalf of the Legislative Council Secretariat:
The Legislative Council (LegCo) Finance Committee will continue to discuss the Administration's funding application for "Advance site formation and engineering infrastructure works at Kwu Tung North new development area and Fanling North new development area" today (June 27) at 4pm in Conference Room 1 of the LegCo Complex.
Having reviewed the effectiveness of the special arrangements implemented in the LegCo Complex last Friday (June 20), The Legislative Council Commission has decided to continue to adopt special arrangements for the safety of Members and other LegCo Complex users and the smooth conduct of meetings in the LegCo Complex.
The special arrangements regarding the services provided for the public are as follows:
1. the designated demonstration areas in the LegCo Complex will be closed for repair and installation of facilities. The pedestrian walkway along Tim Mei Avenue and Legislative Council Road will be used as demonstration areas;
2. no person except Members, their assistants, Secretariat staff and other persons authorised by the Secretariat (including public officers, media representatives and members of the public who have reserved seats at the public galleries) may be admitted into the LegCo Complex. In addition, the Secretariat will not allow a person who poses a security risk to users of the LegCo Complex to enter the Complex;
3. all guided educational tours for the public and schools and all other services to the public (including visit to the LegCo Library, Archives and Children's Corner) will be suspended;
4. not more than 10 places at the public gallery of each of the conference rooms will be made available for reservation by members of the public;
5. no visitor will be admitted to the LegCo Complex and no visitor's parking will be provided in the Complex;
6. the services of the LegCo Cafeteria on G/F may be curtailed.
