Chairs are part of everyday life, yet we seldom give them a second thought. A new Hong Kong Heritage Museum exhibition, "The Extraordinary in the Ordinary: Chairs for Viewing the World Through Time", tells the story of more than 130 chairs from around the world, to help visitors see they really are more than just part of the furniture.

Hong Kong Heritage Museum Curator (Collection/Service), Ms Naomi Szeto walked news.gov.hk reporters through the exhibit, highlighting an Egyptian stool dating back 3 000 years, a Chinese emperor's black-and-gold folding chair, a chair used in childbirth, and a chamber horse, among others.

The story appears today (June 22) in both text and video format.
