Correctional Services officers stopped two male persons in custody assaulting another male person in custody in Tai Lam Correctional Institution today (June 20).
At 8.20am, a 47-year-old person in custody was attacked by another two persons in custody, aged 48 and 50, while proceeding to the exercise yard. Duty officers immediately stopped the assault and separated them.
The victim and the assailants were examined and treated at the centre hospital. The victim sustained injuries on the head, arm and shoulder, and was transferred to a public hospital for further treatment. The assailants were slightly injured and did not need to be transferred to a public hospital.
The case has been reported to the Police for investigation.
The two assailants were sentenced for an offence of theft and trafficking in dangerous drugs, while the victim was sentenced for an offence of theft.
