Resignation of Executive Director of the HKTDC
**********************************************

The Government notes that the Executive Director of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (TDC), Mr Fred Lam Tin-fuk, has tendered his resignation from the Council to take up the post of Chief Executive Officer of the Airport Authority Hong Kong. Mr Lam will leave his current post at the end of September.

"I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation to Mr Lam for his invaluable contribution and leadership of the TDC over the years," the Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Gregory So, said today (June 17).

"Under Mr Lam's able leadership, the TDC has done an exemplary job of promoting Hong Kong's external trade and enhancing Hong Kong's position as Asia's global business platform. The TDC has also launched many new initiatives to help Hong Kong enterprises, especially small and medium enterprises, explore the Mainland and other emerging markets."

A search committee will be set up by the TDC to identify Mr Lam's replacement. The Government is confident that the TDC will continue to build on Hong Kong's economic success through its global business network.
