Airport Authority appoints next CEO

     The Board of Airport Authority Hong Kong (AA) endorsed today (June 17) the appointment of Mr Fred Lam Tin-fuk as the next Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the AA for three years with effect from October 1, 2014. The appointment has been approved by the Chief Executive.

     The incumbent CEO, Mr Stanley Hui Hon-chung, will leave AA on July 10, 2014. Pending the arrival of Mr Lam on October 1, 2014, the incumbent Executive Director, Airport Operations, Mr Ng Chi-kee, will be the Acting CEO.

     The Secretary for Transport and Housing, Professor Anthony Cheung Bing-leung, extends a warm welcome to Mr Lam who will take up the position as CEO of the AA with effect from October 1, 2014. He said he hoped that under Mr Lam's leadership, the AA will continue to strengthen the leading position of Hong Kong International Airport as an international and regional aviation hub, and to promote the long-term development of the airport, including the Three-Runway System and North Commercial District. The Government will continue to work closely with the AA.

     Under the Airport Authority Ordinance, the appointment of the CEO of the AA requires the Chief Executive's approval.
