The Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, met the visiting Taipei City Mayor, Mr Hau Lung-bin, at Government House this afternoon (June 12) for a broad and in-depth discussion on issues of mutual concern, including the development and management of the two cities.
Mr Leung said that Hong Kong and Taiwan enjoy a good bilateral trade relationship and praised Taipei for its remarkable achievements in various areas in recent years.
Mr Leung also shared with Mr Hau about Hong Kong's latest developments and said he hoped that Hong Kong and Taiwan would continue to strengthen their exchanges and co-operation in respect of economic and trade issues, tourism, environmental protection and creative industries, which would help complement each other's strengths and be mutually beneficial.
