The Legislative Council (LegCo) Finance Committee (FC) will continue to discuss the Administration's funding application for Advance Site Formation and Engineering Infrastructure Works at Kwu Tung North New Development Area and Fanling North New Development Area this Friday (June 13) at 3pm in Conference Room 1 of the LegCo Complex.
As some groups and individuals have claimed their intention to force their way in the LegCo Complex during the FC meetings this Friday, The Legislative Council Commission (the Commission) has decided to implement special arrangements for the LegCo Complex on that day to ensure the safety of Members, staff and members of the public and the smooth conduct of meetings.
The special arrangements regarding the services provided for the public are as follows:
(a) The guided educational tours arranged for the public and schools will be cancelled except the tours arranged for schools in the morning;
(b) All other services to the public, including visits to the LegCo Library, LegCo Archives and Children's Corner will be suspended; and
(c) No more than 20 members of the public will be arranged to observe each meeting of the LegCo or its committees on that day. In accordance with the guidelines endorsed by the Commission, persons observing meetings in the public galleries must not have former records of causing disruptions to meetings. In addition, under the Administrative Instructions for regulating Admittance and Conduct of Persons (Cap. 382 sub. leg. A), an officer of the Council may refuse admission of a person to the public gallery if, in the opinion of the officer of the Council, that person may behave in a disorderly manner.
As at today (June 11), all the seats for the public to observe the FC meetings have been reserved.
