Correctional Services officers stopped two persons in custody assaulting another person in custody at Hei Ling Chau Addiction Treatment Centre today (June 10).
At 9.36am, a 31-year-old male person in custody was attacked by two other male persons in custody, aged 29 and 31, inside the workshop. Duty officers at the scene immediately stopped the assault and called for reinforcements.
Upon the arrival of reinforcements the victim, who sustained a head injury, was sent to the centre hospital for examination and treatment. He was referred to a public hospital for further treatment.
The case has been reported to the Police for investigation.
The two assailants were both sentenced to undergo treatment at Hei Ling Chau Addiction Treatment Centre for an offence of possession of dangerous drugs, while the victim was sentenced for the offences of criminal intimidation, theft and possession of dangerous drugs.
