Police are investigating a traffic accident in Sau Mau Ping today (June 8) in which a 94-year-old woman died.
About 12.10pm, a public light bus (PLB) driven by a 44-year-old man was travelling along Hong Ning Road towards Kwun Tong. When approaching near Shung Yan Street, it reportedly knocked down the 94-year-old woman who was crossing the road.
Sustaining serious multiple injuries, the pedestrian was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 3.06pm.
The PLB driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death. He has been released on bail pending further enquiries and is required to report back to Police in late June.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon East, are underway.
