HK Customs seizes three kilogrammes of suspected heroin (with photos)

     Hong Kong Customs today (June 7) smashed a suspected smuggling dangerous drug case at the Hong Kong International Airport and seized about three kilogrammes of suspected heroin with a value of about $2.56 million. The drug was found concealed in between the paper layers of three carton boxes.

     This morning, Customs officers of the Airport Command selected three air consignment parcels from Bangkok, Thailand for examination. A total of 24 zip lock bags containing the suspected heroin were found concealed in between the paper layers of the three carton boxes of men's jeans.  Investigation is still ongoing.

     Under the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, drug trafficking is a serious offence.  The maximum penalty is life imprisonment and a fine of $5 million.
