Appointment of directors of Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company

The following is issued on behalf of the Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited:

     The Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited (HKCMCL) today (June 5) announced the appointment of two new directors and re-appointment of four serving directors to its board of directors for a term of two years from June 5, 2014, to June 4, 2016.

     The two new directors are Professor Philip Chan Ching-ho, the Deputy President and Provost of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and Mr Humphrey Choi Chor-ching, a certified public accountant.

     The four re-appointed serving directors are Mr Alfred Wong Kwok-kuen, Mr Gabriel Pang Tsz-kit, Ms Rosanna Choi Yi-tak and Ms Jeny Yeung Mei-chun.

     With the new appointments and re-appointments, there will be 13 directors on the board. The new board comprises a good mix of expertise from the business community and the information and communications technology (ICT) industry.

     "With the vision, leadership and enthusiasm of the directors, we will continue to work towards fulfilling Cyberport's mission of fostering ICT talents and start-ups, driving the overall technology development in Hong Kong through clustering of companies and professionals in the ICT industry and related businesses," a spokesman for the HKCMCL said.

     The HKCMCL also expressed gratitude to the two outgoing directors, Mr Herman Hu Shao-ming and Mr Lee Shing-see, for their valuable support and contribution to Cyberport over the years.

     The HKCMCL is one of the three private and wholly owned companies set up by the Government under the Financial Secretary Incorporated to oversee the development, operation and management of the Cyberport Project. The board of directors provides policy and strategic guidance to the HKCMCL on its business development, as well as oversight over corporate performance and governance.
