The Legislative Council (LegCo) Panel on Transport and other Panels conducted a site visit today (June 3) to the construction site of To Kwa Wan Station of the Shatin to Central Link (SCL) where relics from the Song Dynasty and other periods were discovered, to understand the impact of the discovery on the progress of works there.
Members received a briefing on the latest works progress of the SCL by the General Manager - SCL, MTR Corporation Limited, Mr Philco Wong. Members were also briefed on the site's archaeological survey by an archaeologist and representatives from the Antiquities and Monuments Office.
Members participating in the visit included the Chairman of the Panel on Transport, Mr Chan Kam-lam, Deputy Chairman, Mr Gary Fan, and Panel members including Mr Paul Tse, Mr Leung Kwok-hung, Mr Michael Tien, Dr Kwok Ka-ki, Dr Elizabeth Quat and Mr Tang Ka-piu; as well as other Panels' members including Mr Alan Leong, Ms Claudia Mo, Mr Charles Peter Mok, Ms Chan Yuen-han, Dr Helena Wong and Dr Chiang Lai-wan.
